With utility providers as our customer, Ameresco drives improvements in the reliability, efficiency, and performance of Federal buildings and facilities.
Ameresco is a pre-qualified Utility Energy Service subcontractor partner with multiple utility companies, including Pacific Gas & Electric Company, Duke Energy, Oklahoma Gas & Electric, Eversource, CenterPoint Energy Resources, and AGL Services.
Ameresco supports utility customers with a suite of tools, templates, and best practices drawn from years of UESC experience and lessons learned. For example, we complete 65% project design during the IGA phase to solicit realistic vendor pricing in response to detailed bid packages, which reduces project risk.
Through a Utility Energy Service Contract (UESC), Ameresco works with utilities to help Federal customers:
Reduce energy consumption
Reduce operating expenses
Upgrade and maintain facilities
Stabilize energy costs
Improve occupancy comfort levels
Increase energy reliability
Enhance the environment
DOE SRS Biomass Cogeneration Facility
The largest energy savings performance contract (ESPC) in U.S. history turned a coal-fired plant at the Department of Energy Savannah River Site into a biomass-fueled plant that generates power and heat through cogeneration.
Through UESC financing, the entire campus of Great Lakes Naval Training Center has been transformed, with a new central steam plant that includes 11 MW of generating capacity, tied to new automated energy controls in buildings that enhance energy efficiency.
